I was on the trail at 5:15am for the final 5 miles and 4000′ up to Mt. Katahdin. (It was disappointing to see this sign call it Baxter Peak)

This was the view as I left Moxie Pond this AM.
The pic came out way better than I realized when I took it…the reflection is amazing. The best part about the pond was I heard loons calling all throughout the night.

A quiet morning at Pierce Pond. I wasn’t in a huge hurry because they Ferry across the Kennebec River (4mi away) doesn’t start til 9am
